After appearing at Rhodes Arena for his annual skills academy, LeBron James played pick-up basketball with several Cleveland Cavaliers and then left at 3:20 p.m. in a White Range Rover. James, who has been a free agent for seven days, is expected to fly to Greenwich, Conn., for a sit-down interview with ESPN Thursday night, according to a source close to James.
ESPN Radio confirmed the network has booked the Boys and Girls Club in Greenwich from 7-10 p.m. Thursday night.
After being considered longshots in recent days, the Knicks now become serious contenders for the King – and maybe even the favorites.
Aside from Greenwich being a short drive from the Knicks training facility in Greenburgh, NY, former Suns teammate of Amar’e Stoudemire, Jared Dudley, posted on his Twitter account earlier Monday, “Breaking News!!! My sources tell me LeBron will announce that he will be goin to the NY KNICKS tomorrow on ESPN.. This is serious.. WOW!!!!”
The announcement by Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh earlier in the day that they will play for the Heat, also leaves New York as the biggest stage left for James, who has said in the past that he wants to be a billionaire.
