Spy suspect Anna Chapman could have worked as a Russian secret agent while living in London, her British ex-husband claims.
Alex Chapman, 30, told last night how she admitted to him her ex-KGB father Vasily Kushchenko was a “high-ranking” officer in the country’s security forces.
The Bournemouth-based psychiatrist said his suspicions were aroused when Anna, 28, went for secret meetings with her “Russian friends” while living in Britain.
On Wednesday MI5 officials visited Mr Chapman at his home as part of the global investigation into the alleged spy network.
Mr Chapman married flame-haired Anna in Moscow in 2002, five months after they met at a party in London. They divorced in 2006. He said: “She said her father had been high up in the ranks of the KGB. She said he was an agent in ‘old Russia’.
“Her father controlled everything in her life, and I felt she would have done anything for him. When I saw she’d been arrested on suspicion of spying it didn’t come as much of a surprise.”
He added: “Towards the end of our marriage she became very secretive, going for meetings on her own with Russian friends, and I guess it might have been because she was in contact with the Russian government.”

For the record – I hate hunting – but I believe everyone has the right to defend themselves (and hunt if they must) …… the 3 day wait is good and no guns for felons – but registering or restricting guns for law abiding citizens is just wrong – and you know what the left agenda is for guns ……one step always leads to another

Bush lied about the motive for war with Iraq, firing Scooter Libby (he said he was going to fire the leak in the valerie plame situation), he also lied about going after the people who took down the trade center. I think every president has lied at some point, almost impossible to get to where they are without it. Its the major things that get me, like lying about going to war, and lting a country into war. Obama, as much as you don’t like him, was truthful about putting through healthcare (which he said he was going to do before elected) he did say he was going to raise taxes on people making over 250k/yr, which seems like will happen. He did say he was going to end both wars (we are drawing back in Iraq, and afganistan is not doing well). The thing is if people really thought he was going to be able to end both wars within two years they were dillusional, and he never said he was going to finish the Afghan war within that short amount of time. I think its a little too early to tell about that. This has gotten out of hand, it would be nice for people to be civil during these discussions

Guns are lethal weapons, just seems to me they cause more harm then good; I think its pretty unrealistic that the 2nd amendment ever gets overtunred though. It was a little different back in the 1700’s when talking about that issue; guns were a bit more neccessary back then as oppossed to now. However, to me its not worth the fight cause its never going to get overturned though. I do find it funny that we live somewhere where I can carry and own a lethal weapon, but can’t legally smoke marijuanna. If I can carry around and own a gun that can kill people, why the hell can’t I choose what to put into my own body? That is ridiculous!!!!

Well, I guess Mark has it all figured out. I agree with some of those; not all. I would say that many European nations are semi socialist, so there are coutries out there where it has been implimented and been viable. Also, as far as large scale, socialism is a very young governing practice. Also, why is the right to bear arms the most important thing in the “Assure people have their rights – especially Live and The right to bear arms. constitution to people?” How is that the first thing you mention????? I find it an interesting comment about our society that so many people point to that being such an important part of the constitution. Also, you know we are the only world power/advanced country in the world without some form of universal healthcare??? Isn’t it time that be taken care of? Also, I don’t like the bailouts, and think the CEO’s and company executives should pay, and pay hard, but the problem is if you let all those companies fail the unemployment would be way way worse then it is now, then that means more unemployment benefits. So, its either pay for the bailout, or pay for the extra unemployment benefits; which as we know republicans hate doing.

Who’s doing the same thing as Hitler? I have been involved with a Socialist group and I have to say it really bothers me when people demonize this ideology. It is probably one of the most misunderstood concepts out there; especially in this country. Anything that is evil, naziims, fascism, totalitarianism, seems to be lumped in with socialism just to demonize socialism. There have been many dictators, governments, etc, that are capitalist that have done some pretty horrific things as well.

Nazi Germany was socialist as everything was owned by the government, everything Hitler did, he did for the sake of the “volk” or the “people” an example is how the handicapped were treated. The Nazi’s beleived that in time the stupid and the retarted would out number the “normal” people so steps had to be taken to save the people. Modern day liberals like MHC would call this “social justice” In fact Heydrich even mentioned social justice in his speeches.
MHC likes to pretend that the Nazi’s were captlists but it is a strectch at best. The government completely controlled monetary policy, banking, imports and exports, set up severe price and wage controls, restricted dividends, organized factories and in short, mobilized for war from day one. Profits soared on paper, but in reality, businessmen became just one more cog in the Nazi state, controlled from above and buried in an avalanche of red-tape, taxation, and mandatory contributions to the state. As Fritz Thyssen noted, ‘the Nazi regime has ruined German industry. What a fool I was.’ Indeed!
At the end of the day however it’s simple as this Nazism, Socalism, Communism all are big government movments.
