A series of suggestive costume-party photos of Democratic congressional candidate Krystal Ball dressed in a revealing outfit with a man with a sex toy on his nose have drawn new attention to the race.
Ball is a political newcomer in her first run for Congress, taking on U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, R- Westmoreland, in Virginia’s 1st District which stretches from Newport News to Fredericksburg.
Ball admitted she was “embarrassed” when the photos emerged this week on two conservative blogs and said they were put out as part of a coordinated effort to undermine her campaign.
“I’m pretty angry about it,” Ball said. “It’s outrageous. It’s incredibly sexist.”
Ball, 29, confirmed that the photos are of her and her ex-husband during a private holiday party held shortly after Ball graduated from college six years ago. Ball is dressed in a skimpy Christmas-themed Santa outfit and is leading around a man dressed as a reindeer by a leash. The man’s nose, in an explicit nod to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, is a bright red sex toy.
Ball said Wednesday she was shocked and angry that the photos became public and said it’s unfair that female political candidates, both Republican and Democrat, face different standards from men.

I certainly hope she has gotten smarter since these pictures were taken. I ‘m sure she realizes that any pictures that make it into cyber space are subject to surface with one click of a mouse.

You shouldn’t have to “hope” for anything. People who run for public office shouldn’t have to hide from their past. The photos say alot about Ms. Ball’s values and personality. She can claim dirty tricks, but the fact is that she did this to herself…with a little help from her husband and the female friend. She should assume responsibility and move on…and contrary to what Oremus below thinks, most young women these days are not “slutty”.

It’s funny how krystal ball has put up signs in fredericksburg saying ” tell rob to debate” and leaving his office phone number up, so people would call and harass him. seems to me ” karma” has bit her in the butt. krystal ball is trashy, a typical liar and ignorant of what is important. she will lie, promise the moon and decieve to get her way. WE have all had enough of the deception in washington. WE don’t need another maxine water’s or charlie rangel in D.C. representing us regardless of the photos. America has had enough of everything being excused and being lied too. NO MORE LIARS IN D.C. especially KRYSTAL BALL. no thanks

There is nothing wrong with these photos!!! These are housewives having innocent fun that everyone has at these parties. Heck, her husband is even there and having a ball! This is not only no big deal but more importantly a slam against a candidate who might, God forbid, DO SOMETHING IF SHE GETS IN OFFICE!!!! I have known a lot higher up people than her who have these parties. Hell, I know someone who works for the DOD who GIVES these parties as a side business (and they are a lot racier than this stuff!!) They are just trying to shut her up. Give’em hell Krystal!!!!!! I’m voting for you! Don’t let them shut you up over nonsense. Republicans are just jealous because their wives are too uptight to actually have sexual relations with them. That is why they go to prostitutes. Dem’s don’t have to go to pro’s because they actually enjoy sex with their spouses.
