Ct Patriot: So Sen. Diane Feinstein and her husband Richard Blum are scamming the US taxpayer once again. These people are corrupt beyond words. The whole Washington scene is just a cesspool filled with elected officials who line their and their friends bank accounts as taxpaying citizens are forced to struggle. This is also the woman who wants to take away the 2nd amendment right. Is that so Feinstein and her hubby Blum can steal even more from us? How is this even legal? This woman should be in jail not in congress!
Senator’s husband stands to profit big from government deal
Ever wonder how lowly paid lawmakers leave office filthy rich?
Sen. Dianne Feinstein is showing how it’s done.
The US Postal Service plans to sell 56 buildings — so it can lease space more expensively — and the real estate company of the California senator’s husband, Richard Blum, is set to pocket about $1 billion in commissions.
Blum’s company, CBRE, was selected in March 2011 as the sole real estate agent on sales expected to fetch $19 billion. Most voters didn’t notice that Blum is a member of CBRE’s board and served as chairman from 2001 to 2014.
This feat of federal spousal support was ignored by the media after Feinstein’s office said the senator, whose wealth is pegged at $70 million, had nothing to do with the USPS decisions.
When the national debt is $18 trillion, a billion seems like small change.
The sale of these properties will fetch billions of dollars and a handsome 6% commission to the company (CBRE Group) handling the sales.
Nothing wrong so far. Right?
The chairman of the Board and one of the major institutional stockholders of the CBRE Group is a man named Richard Blum.
Nothing wrong so far. Right?
Who is Richard Blum you ask?
Senator Feinstein and her husband, Richard Blum, stand to make a fortune. His firm, CBRE Group (formerly the CB Richard Ellis Real Estate Group) was awarded the sole, exclusive right to sell these properties. Of course, the CBRE Group will be making a good commission on the sale of each and every one of these postal properties.
All of these U.S. Postal Service properties that are being sold are all fully paid for. They were purchased with U.S. taxpayers dollars, and they are allowed free and clear by the U.S.P.S. The only cost to keep them is the cost to actually keep the doors open and the heat and lights on. The United States Postal Service doesn’t even have to pay property taxes on these subject properties.
Senator Feinstein has a long history of influencing legislation that benefited her husband’s businesses. Several years ago, Senator Feinstein had to resign from the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee. Feinstein was chairperson and ranking member of MILCON for six years, during which time she had a conflict of interest due to her husband Richard C. Blum’s ownership of two major defense contractors, who were awarded billions of dollars for military construction projects approved by Feinstein.
