Chris Matthews: Since Election Obama ‘Has Been Elitist And Come With A Teleprompter’

With nearly all polls pointing to a significant GOP victory during tomorrow’s midterm elections, some political pundits are already starting to point fingers of blame, even if the target once was responsible for leg-thrilling oratory skills. Case in point, during an appearance with Andrea Mitchell on her eponymous MSNBC program, Chris Matthews did not demure in his blistering comparison between Candidate Obama and President Obama. Watch and see for yourself.

The thrust of Matthews’ commentary is that Obama was terrific at connecting with the people while running for office, but as president, he has been just the opposite. Rough transcript of the heart of his comments precede the video segment below:

Chris Matthews: When he was a campaigner, he said what a great country it is, what an exceptional country it is. A guy like me made it. He was patriotic and inclusive. He was interactive. Ever since he’s been president, he’s elitist and come with a teleprompter. He hasn’t listened. He’s talked at us rather than with us.

Andrea Mitchell: That’s what he’s projected?

Matthews: No, he brings the teleprompter with him.

Mitchell: You don’t think he’s interacted even with the town hall meetings?

Matthews: No. and I think he hasn’t explained himself. Lincoln had to explain the civil war. Roosevelt had to explain everything. You have to take people along with you. I think he’s guilty of the elitist charge. If you are going to spend $1.6 trillion deficit in one year, you have to explain to the American people why you did it. he never explained economics the way you were taught it.

I Had a One-Night Stand With Christine O’Donnell

I Had a One-Night Stand With Christine O’Donnell Three years ago this week, an intoxicated Christine O’Donnell showed up at the apartment of a 25-year-old Philadelphian and ended up spending the night in his bed. Here’s his story—and photos—of his escapade with the would-be Delaware senator.

Excerpt from Gawker Articles…

Things got physical on the couch pretty quickly. It wasn’t long before we’d moved from the living room to my bed.

I won’t get into the nitty gritty details of what happened between the sheets that evening. But I will say that it wasn’t half as exciting as I’d been hoping it would be. Christine was a decent kisser, but as soon as soon as her clothes came off and she was naked in my bed, Christine informed me that she was a virgin.

“You’ve got to be kidding,” I said. She didn’t explain at the time that she was a “born-again virgin.” She made it seem like she’d never had sex in her life, which seemed pretty improbable for a woman her age. And she made it clear that she was planning on staying a virgin that night. But there were signs that she wasn’t very experienced sexually. When her underwear came off, I immediately noticed that the waxing trend had completely passed her by.

Obviously, that was a big turnoff, and I quickly lost interest. I said goodnight, rolled over, and went to sleep. It was almost four o’clock in the morning. I had to get up at 6:30 to go to work.

O’Donnell’s “Hook-Up:” Gawker’s in the Wrong

It’s a sorry moment in political journalism when we must look towards the National Enquirer as a standard-bearer in reporting ethics.

A thought to consider as you read the story:

Let’s say every detail in it is true. O’Donnell was (and is) a single woman at the time this alleged incident happened. She did not commit adultery. She did not become pregnant out of wedlock. She did not even masturbate. Indeed by the guy’s own telling, she didn’t even violate her views on abstinence–not with him, and not subsequently in the alleged year-long relationship with his roommate. Yes it’s true she might have violated her own self-professed sexual ethics–getting drunk and giggly and naked, like some 1950s sorority girl–but really! Is this the standard we are now going to hold public figures to? Are we really going to get into a public debate about private dating behavior, and whether or not one sticks to a standard on a consistent basis?

Either way this whole story reeks as a pre-election plant, a completely made-up fiction, and Gawker should own up to the identity of this cowardly sexual creep. If only so that Christine O’Donnell’s older brother can find him and give him a well-deserved punch in the face.

Although I wouldn’t put it past O’Donnell to be able to level that punch herself.

‘Meathead’ Rob Reiner, Another Hate-Filled Liberal: Tea Parties Are Like NAZI HITLER…(HATE VIDEO)

Rob Reiner: You know what this tea party movement reminds me of? Nazism

I’d call this the intellectual highlight of last night’s Bill Maher show except that later Maher ended up asking Levi Johnston if he uses condoms now, so, hey. This is what I meant the other day about Democrats wanting to lash out at voters for being racist and crazy and Hitlerian enough to elect Republicans, but that’s too much of a risk given how many centrists and independents are committed to voting for tea party candidates next month.

You don’t want to alienate any constituencies you might otherwise be able to win back in 2012. Better for the White House to stick to a more gently condescending line about voters “not thinking clearly” or whatever and let B-list surrogates like Rachel Maddow and Meathead here do the heavy lifting.

Reiner and his fellow travelers are a lot more comfortable with Hitler analogies than I am, but if we’re going to play a game that lamentably stupid and offensive, I suppose I could chip in by noting that it ain’t the GOP making headlines lately for fearmongering speeches about shadowy foreigners threatening to destroy our democracy from within. And the hate! Like P.J. O’Rourke says, don’t forget the hate:

They don’t just hate our Republican, conservative, libertarian, strict constructionist, family values guts. They hate everybody’s guts. And they hate everybody who has any. Democrats hate men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, gays, straights, the rich, the poor, and the middle class.

Democrats hate Democrats most of all. Witness the policies that Democrats have inflicted on their core constituencies, resulting in vile schools, lawless slums, economic stagnation, and social immobility.

Democrats will do anything to make sure that Democratic voters stay helpless and hopeless enough to vote for Democrats…

This is not an election on November 2. This is a restraining order. Power has been trapped, abused and exploited by Democrats. Go to the ballot box and put an end to this abusive relationship. And let’s not hear any nonsense about letting the Democrats off if they promise to get counseling

Pelosi Wants Ground Zero Mosque Opponents Investigated

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for opponents of the proposed Ground Zero mosque to be investigated in order to establish who is funding their activities, in a throwback to how Pelosi also claimed that the Tea Party was a phony “astroturf” movement being orchestrated by the Republican hierarchy.

“There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” Pelosi told San Francisco’s KCBS radio.

“How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we’ve been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City,” she added.

No matter where you stand on the proposed mosque, which is set to be built within a community center a couple of blocks from where the twin towers once stood, Pelosi’s implication that opposition to its construction is being bankrolled by the Republican party is simply not true.

A Rasmussen poll conducted nearly a month ago, before the mosque story had received widespread media coverage, found that a mere 20 per cent of Americans supported the construction of the mosque. People were not swayed to oppose the mosque because of an engineered PR campaign to ‘gin up’ the controversy as Pelosi claims, they were opposed to it from the very start.

Pelosi’s comments bear resemblance to similar rhetoric that we heard earlier this year, when she claimed the Tea Party movement was not grass roots because it was being orchestrated by the Republican establishment.

“The Republican Party directs a lot of what the Tea Party does, but not everybody in the Tea Party takes direction from the Republican Party. And so there was a lot of, shall we say, Astroturf, as opposed to grassroots,” she stated at the time.

Pelosi is so arrogant and out of touch with the American people that she truly believes that any significant opposition to Barack Obama, who on Friday committed political suicide by publicly backing the mosque, and his policies is not the genuine backlash of millions of Americans sick to the back teeth with big government and must be artificially engineered.

When she is heckled and booed, as routinely happens when she makes any kind of public appearance, Pelosi resorts to blaming “insurance companies” and other mythical creatures of her imagination.

In reality, Obama’s poll numbers continue to plunge to record lows as more Americans reject his policies and Pelosi’s own approval rating according to a CBS poll stands at a pathetic 11 per cent, making her even more unpopular than George W. Bush ever was.

Congressman Rohrabacher: Almost All House Republicans Think Iraq War Illegal, Immoral

Phony left-right paradigm destroyed as Obama deploys more troops than at any time under George W. Bush

Judge Andrew Napolitano’s new Saturday show on the Fox Business Network is set to send shock waves through the political establishment this weekend when his guest – Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher – reveals that almost all House Republicans now believe that the invasion of Iraq was not only a mistake, but also illegal and immoral.

“This morning when we taped our show for this weekend, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, a right down the middle conservative Republican from southern California, former speech writer for G, looked at me and said ‘almost all Republicans in the House of Representatives now believe that the war in Iraq was a mistake, that it was unlawful, that it was immoral, that it wasn’t worth the lives lost or the trillions that will be spent’,” Napolitano told The Alex Jones Show.

“That is newsworthy that he would say it, it is newsworthy that so many Republicans would change their mind,” added Napolitano, a former New Jersey Superior Court Judge.

As far back as three years ago, GOP support for the war in Iraq was beginning to waver, with a CNN poll finding that 38 percent of Republicans opposed the war. The recent primary success of anti-incumbent candidates like Rand Paul, a vocal critic of the invasion and occupation of Iraq, shows that the tide has rapidly turned.

Napolitano pointed out that when he attacked the Bush administration for abusing the constitution, Republicans were upset, but that they are now starting to realize how government is supposed to operate as it was intended by the founding fathers.

Napolitano’s show, which was broadcast solely on the Internet until last week, achieved top ratings for its premiere on the Fox Business Network, with viewers hungry to hear true libertarian viewpoints outside of the controlled statist neo-lib/neo-con paradigm.

“There is a thirst out there for a focus on the government that has a bias in favor of human liberty and believes that the individual is greater than the state, that the individual has natural rights and an immortal soul and the government is just an artificial creation based on fear and force,” summarized Napolitano.

Napolitano’s popularity has even made him a target with his own colleagues. Fellow Fox News host, neo-con and habitual government apologist Shep Smith attacked Napolitano yesterday for “standing up for BP,” when in reality the Judge was merely pointing out that the government has no business under the constitution in regulating the affairs of private companies.

The revelation that almost all House Republicans now consider the invasion of Iraq to have been illegal, immoral and a giant mistake illustrates how far we have come in destroying the phony left-right paradigm.

Now that Obama has continued and indeed expanded the Bush doctrine of military imperialism and occupation, many establishment neo-libs are defending the wars that they once opposed. Obama campaigned as the “peace candidate,” yet has broken every promise he made and is now a bigger warmonger than George W. Bush. With troops still yet to leave Afghanistan or Iraq, Obama has made it clear that a military attack on Iran is not “off the table”.

Obama now has more American troops deployed than at any time under Bush. The date for withdrawing troops from Iraq is continually pushed back, and even then it is admitted that a “residual force” of tens of thousands of troops will remain to occupy the country.

SET UP!!! Obama Operative Responsible For Breaking Window To Frame Anti-Obamacare Activists…

’08 race worker held in damage to Colorado Democratic HQ

By Jessica Fender
The Denver Post

One of two people suspected of shattering 11 windows Tuesday morning at the state Democratic Party headquarters has an arrest record and a history of helping a Democratic political candidate, public records show.

Police said that about 2:20 a.m., 24-year-old Maurice Schwenkler, now in custody, and an at-large accomplice took a hammer to the picture windows displaying posters touting President Barack Obama and his health care reform efforts.

Early Tuesday, Democratic Party chairwoman Pat Waak said the damage to her building in Denver’s art district was a consequence of “an effort on the other side to stir up hate.” She tempered her statement after Schwenkler’s political history was revealed.

“What I’ve been saying is there is a lot of rhetoric out there from both sides of the spectrum,” Waak said. “That’s what’s been disturbing to me. People are saying a lot of things not appropriate for civil discourse.”

For weeks, people on both sides of the health care debate have rallied across the country.

Schwenkler is charged with criminal mischief and is to make his first appearance in Denver County Court today.

He is accused of doing an estimated $11,000 in damage and could face a felony conviction.

On the last day of the 2008 Republican National Convention, he was charged with misdemeanor unlawful assembly in St. Paul, Minn.

Court records provided through the St. Paul Pioneer Press show he was jailed about 2 a.m.

Schwenkler received $500 in November 2008 to walk door-to-door in support of Democrat Mollie Cullom, who lost her race to Republican state Rep. David Balmer of Centennial.

Waak, who was not involved with the group that paid Schwenkler, said she’s never heard of the suspect and pointed out that just because he canvassed “doesn’t mean he’s a good Democrat.”

Schwenkler was one of dozens of paid canvassers bankrolled by the Colorado Citizens’ Coalition, a political 527 committee
Schwenkler has worked for Democratic causes. (Denver Police Department )
funded by labor groups and well-known, wealthy liberal donors.

In those disclosures, Schwenkler’s address is listed as Derailer Bicycle Cooperative, a free community bicycle collective that operates just around the corner from the Democratic headquarters. Multiple volunteers at the collective declined to discuss Schwenkler, though they said he was affiliated with the group.

Balmer said he suspects the vandalism might have been aimed at making the GOP look bad.

“This sounds like the type of Democratic tactic from the left fringe trying to make Republicans look mean-spirited,” Balmer said. “In this case, it blew up in their face. He was caught red-handed.”

Schwenkler allegedly tried to conceal his identity while committing the crime by wearing a shirt over his face, a hooded sweat shirt and latex gloves, according to police descriptions.

When a Denver police officer on patrol spotted two people smashing windows, the suspects fled on bicycles.

Schwenkler was arrested after a short foot pursuit, but the other suspect sped away, police Detective Vicki Ferrari said.

She declined to release further details.

Sen. Scott Brown Trashes Obama’s ‘Bitter, Destructive and Endless’ Push For Health Care Take Over(VIDEO)

Sen. Scott Brown Trashes Obama’s ‘Bitter’ Push For Health Care Take Over

Huffington Post
03-13-10

WASHINGTON (AP)– Newly arrived Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts accused President Barack Obama and Democrats on Saturday of a “bitter, destructive and endless” drive to pass health overhaul legislation that Brown warned would be disastrous.

“An entire year has gone to waste,” Brown said in the weekly GOP radio and Internet address. “Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, and many more jobs are in danger. Even now, the president still hasn’t gotten the message.

“Somehow, the greater the public opposition to the health care bill, the more determined they seem to force it on us anyway.”

Brown himself can claim responsibility for the Democrats’ failure to pass health overhaul legislation to date. They were on the verge of doing so before Brown claimed the late Edward M. Kennedy’s Senate seat in a special election upset in January, depriving Democrats of their filibuster-proof supermajority and throwing the health care effort into limbo.

WATCH: Sen. Brown’s address

It has been gradually revived, and Democrats are now pushing for final passage before Easter under complex Senate rules that would allow them to sidestep a Republican filibuster. Republicans in the House and Senate are unanimously opposed to the sweeping legislation, which would extend coverage to some 30 million uninsured Americans with a new mandate for nearly everyone to carry insurance.

The House minority leader, Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, said in an interview for broadcast Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if House Democrats had the votes to pass the health care bill they would have acted by now.

“They don’t have the votes,” Boehner said.

Brown, as a state senator in Massachusetts, voted in favor of the universal-coverage law in that state. The bill he supported in Massachusetts has a number of features in common with the Democrats’ legislation, including a mandate for nearly everyone to be covered.

But he campaigned on a promise to be the Republicans’ crucial 41st vote against Obama’s health plan, and said Saturday that his victory amounted to a message from voters that Washington should “get its priorities right.”

“We need to drop this whole scheme of federally controlled health care, start over, and work together on real reforms at the state level that will contain costs and won’t leave America trillions of dollars deeper in debt,” Brown said.
